Security
Thumbs Up™'s security begins at the logon screen, where you can not logon without a valid user name and password. Because logon security is built in to Thumbs Up, the administrator of the system and the creators of collections can limit the editability or even visibility of collections using the Modify Collection screen:

A range of data access capabilities is built-in to the database in the form of groups with various levels of access, from Administrator (with all rights) down to Viewer (with view, search, and sort capability, but not allowed to modify, add, or delete any data or files).

Thumbs Up provides multi-level hierarchical access. Users can be assigned to appropriate groups. Each group has a set of access rights or privileges. By using the nesting feature described below, each higher-level group inherits the privileges of the lower level group. One has only to assign each user to a group and Thumps Up uses the following preset hierarchy of groups to determine access:
Viewer Group - The Viewer group can only view and make searches and temporary sorts of image and collection data.
Data Entry Group - The Data Entry group has all the Viewer privileges as well as the ability to add field data to the image records.
Supervisor Group -The Supervisor group has all Data Entry group privileges as well as the ability to delete and modify image data and add and create collections.
Management Group - The Management group has all the Supervisor privileges and the ability to delete/modify collection information.
